Jake Perlin is the Artistic and Programming Director for Metrograph in New York. For eight years he was Associate Curator at BAMcinematek, and was Programmer/Producer at Large for Film Society of Lincoln Center. Perlin is founder of The Film Desk, which has released numerous films in new 35mm prints, many never previously distributed in North America. Film Desk Books has published two volumes of previously uncollected writings by Lillian Ross about John Huston and François Truffaut, and this fall will publish the first English translation of conversations between Margurite Duras and Jean-Luc Godard. He is Managing Director of Cinema Conservancy, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of American Independent film. Perlin is a Chevalier des Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, has twice received the Heritage Award for film programming from the National Society of Film Critics, and co-produced films by Matías Piñiero, Laurie Anderson, Tony Stone and Zia Anger.
