Are you between 13 and 15 years old and an endless source of ideas you'd like to share? Come and discover the Atelier du Futur and explore new ways to shape your future.
Each day spent at Atelier du Futur will be a unique opportunity to be inspired and to reflect on important issues such as sustainability, consumption, culture, and digitization. Topics will be addressed by experimenting with different art forms, including, of course, film.
Highlighted activities include: meetings with various Swiss and international personalities, workshops curated by professional artists, screenings of films from the Locarno Film Festival, and the presentation of the Locarno Kids Award la Mobiliare to director Luc Jacquet on August 7 on the Piazza Grande.
Atelier du Futur is a cultural mediation initiative born from the social commitment of la Mobiliare that consists of four days of meetings, workshops, artistic activities and discussions that embrace topics related to the development of creativity and the fostering of a positive and sustainable approach to the challenges of the future.
The Key word of this experience will be "inspiration". The new generations will in fact discuss relevant issues of our time, inspired by experts, artists, prominent guests, who will present their projects and share their stories. Together with all the participants, we will develop new ideas and visions to help shape our society in a sustainable and creative way.
By participating in the Atelier, young people will also have the opportunity to have free access to the Locarno Film Festival and attend dedicated screenings for their age groups.
The Atelier du Futur is aimed at a total of 50 young participants between the ages of 13 and 15 who want to get involved, learn and share their ideas and creativity.
The young participants will learn to shape and represent their ideas, and they will share their impressions on current topics such as consumption, digitization, environment, and art and culture.
The hope is that each participant will return home with a broadened background of experience and skills, increased self-confidence, increased motivation to continue exploring specific topics, and most importantly, many new friends.
Thanks to the engagement of la Mobiliare, the Main partner of Locarno Kids, participating in the Atelier du Futur is completely free of charge. Included in the package, in addition to the workshops, are meals and tickets to dedicated screenings at the Locarno Film Festival.
Transportation costs to and from Locarno are not included. However, we are working on solutions to make it easier for participants in Ticino to reach the Atelier. We will get in touch directly with the participants’ families for updates
The Atelier du Futur's headquarters is Villa San Quirico in Minusio.
During the days, participants will also be taken to the Locarno Film Festival for activities, including screenings in the theater and on the Piazza Grande.
The Atelier du Futur will take place August 5-8, 2023.
The days will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at approximately 9:00 p.m., except for the evening of Monday, August 7, when the screening is scheduled to take place on the Piazza Grande. Mom, you don't even realize how beautiful it is. Everything is so beautiful I can’t even explain…
The thing I liked the most was the fact that we were able to experiment with our creativity. And moreover that we were able to look forward to our future.
The first Ticino edition of the Atelier du Futur was a success of creativity and an explosion of new ideas aimed at the future.
For three days, the 50 young participants met in the evocative setting of Villa San Quirico in Minusio, taking part in a rich program made up of meetings with prestigious guests, moments of reflection and discussion on topical issues, official screenings of the Locarno Film Festival and a series of creative workshops, including culinary art, music, fashion and cinema to shape their future...
