During the Industry Academy days, participants deepen their knowledge of the film industry and get in contact with distributors, acquisition managers, marketing specialists, senior programmers, sales agents, exhibitors, as well as producers and representatives of film funds and institutes. This way, the acquisition of specific skills is accompanied by the building of a solid network of contacts, an indispensable feature for anyone who intends to work at a high level in the film industry. 

Industry Academy America Latina

The Locarno Industry Academy developed in LatAm since 2015, with both physical and online editions.

In a few years the Industry Academy it has managed to reach out and create a community of professionals that now counts more than 350 alumni from all over the world.

Each Industry Academy is coordinated by a regional project manager, with the supervision and support of Locarno Industry Academy Project Manager Marion Klotz.

Launched in 2014, the Industry Academy has grown significantly on the international scene by offering workshops during the entire year in partnership with important film festivals and institutions: in Mexico with Morelia IFF, in Brazil with BrLab, in Chile with Australab, in Panama with International Film Festival Panama, in Greece with Thessaloniki IFF, in the US with NYC-based Film at Lincoln Center, in India with FilmBazaar, in Southern Africa with Realness Institute and in Beirut with MC Distribution and BCP.

The Industry Academy is possible thanks to the support of the Federal Office of Culture (FOC) / MEDIA Desk Suisse and the collaboration of three pan-European organisations (Europa Cinemas, Europa Distribution and Europa International).
