Swiss Life
The Locarno Film Festival has always known about Swiss Life's future-oriented attitude. In addition to being a partner of the national competition of Pardi di domani, which focuses on short films and young talents, they also support the Locarno Shorts Weeks, the Locarno Film Festival’s off-season event that became a competition this year thanks to Swiss Life. Already confirmed for Locarno 2020 – For the Future of Films, the Pardi di domani competition, which will play both in theaters and online, can once again rely on Swiss Life, even under these extraordinary circumstances, with their name on the two awards meant for Swiss shorts. These are the Pardino d’oro and Pardino d’argento, worth CHF 10,000 and CHF 5,000 respectively, which will go to two of the twelve competing films.
It is precisely in times like these that it’s important to promote creativity and encourage young talents to fulfill their cinematic ambitions with absolute freedom.
Many things are different this year, and even the Locarno Film Festival didn’t go unscathed in the wake of the pandemic. With the new format For the Future of Films, the organizers managed to create an interesting program for film buffs around the globe. Therefore, I am very pleased to witness the continued partnership between Swiss Life and the Locarno Film Festival this year. With the Pardino d’oro Swiss Life and Pardino d’argento Swiss Life, we’ve been supporting young Swiss filmmakers since 2006. It is precisely in times like these that it’s important to promote creativity and encourage young talents to fulfill their cinematic ambitions with absolute freedom.
