La città dei vivi. Rethinking creative practice and cultural programming
Nicola Lagioia will be accompanied by a taste of Alberto Lattuada. On March 27, the eighth edition of L'immagine e la parola will come alive online, allowing Artistic Director Giona A. Nazzaro to greet the Italian writer and author of La città dei vivi. The online space will also feature an on-demand screening of Alberto Lattuada's The Beach, an ideal film to conjure up images of the summer, when the Locarno audience will get to discover the Retrospective focusing on the Italian director.
The Locarno Film Festival's spring event is back. After canceling the 2020 edition because of the health crisis, L'immagine e la parola will reconnect with its audience thanks to a 100% online "special edition". The event, scheduled for March 27, will have as its guest of honor the Italian writer Nicola Lagioia, who won the Premio Strega in 2015 for La ferocia and recently authored La città dei vivi, which was published last fall and will serve as the guideline for the conversation between Lagioia and the Locarno Film Festival's Artistic Director, Giona A. Nazzaro. An additional exclusive will be the on-demand screening of Alberto Lattuada's The Beach, setting the tone for the Locarno74 Retrospective.
Join us here, online, on the Locarno Film Festival website, on Saturday, March 27.
There the cities of the living, populated by the dead. And then there are the cities of the dead, the only ones where life still makes sense.
