The elder of a remote mountain village prophesies the disappearance of the sun and the end of the world. In the face of spiraling terror, young Isabelle leads her fellow villagers on a journey to find the sun. Adapted from the 1937 novel by Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, Claude Goretta (1929-2019) explores the anguish of death in a small community, amid superstition and redemption.
