Will the future be filled with emotions? The past, both analog and digital, is based upon the consolidation of a balance between emotions and pragmatism, between a vision full of hope and the awareness of the difficulty to achieve it. What will happen in the age of artificial intelligence? Can we still base the coexistence, both with ourselves and with those close to us, on emotions? There are many ethical challenges ahead of us, looking for answers to questions regarding the boundaries of the notion of human existence.
This will be discussed tomorrow, 16th August, at the Spazio Cinema, where the third edition of the “Locarno Talks La Mobiliare” takes place, along with guests Daniel J. Müller, Professor of Biophysics (D-BSSE- ETH Zurich) and Barbara Treutlein, Professor of Quantitative Developmental Biology (D-BSSE, ETH Zurich). The talk will be moderated by Dr. Ralf Stutzki, Head ethics, NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering, (University of Basel).
