Nicola Pini

Born in 1984, he holds a degree in Literature (History and Political Science) from the University of Lausanne and, after professional experience in the management of the Department of Finance and Economy of the Canton of Ticino and the Associazione industrie ticinesi (Ticino Industry Association), he is now the owner of a strategic and socio-economic consultancy firm. First a member of the Municipal Government and now Mayor of Locarno, he is also a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Ticino (Parliament), of which he was President for the 2021-2022 legislative year. He was a member of the Public Council of the Swiss Public Broadcasting Corporation for the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland (SRG SSR CORSI) for 12 years and chaired the Ticino Film Commission, the first of its kind in Switzerland, from 2016 to 2023. He is the author of several publications, including one on the history of information within the Swiss Italian-speaking Public Broadcasting Corporation (RSI).
