As the hotels in Locarno tend to be fully booked in the summer, especially during the festival, we suggest that you also look for solutions in the area around Locarno. For example, you could book your accommodation in Minusio, Ascona, Brissago, Losone, Solduno, Tenero. These are all picturesque and cozy places 1-6 km from the city center, while the more adventurous can book a room or chalet in the beautiful mountains near Locarno. In addition, most accommodations offer access to a Ticino Ticket, which is a free bus ticket, and the Festival has a free PardoBus service for all accredited people, which connects many hotels to our festival venues. Everything is also accessible by bike! Last but not least, remember that holders of accreditation, season tickets or tickets are entitled to free travel on public transport throughout Ticino.
