Her first gesture has an existential quality to it. A Febre, Maya Da-Rin's first film, is the search for an impossible balance between the Brazilian metropolis and the Amazon forest, between Manaus and Brasilia, between a father's roots and a daughter's rebellion. It's the need for a search and the absence of the time required to solve it. She, Maya, managed to stay there, in that unstable, yet safe balance point.
