Welcome to the Press Village by Nespresso ! This year, thanks to the partnership with Nespresso, we are happy to welcome you to the "Press Village by Nespresso", a unique and centralized space that conveniently combines all the main press-related activities. Designed to meet the needs of journalists, the space is located in Largo Zorzi, in a strategic position just a few steps from the Kursaal Theatre and Piazza Grande.
Press conferences and photo calls will be held in this new area. A press room and the Nespresso Lounge are also available.
The screenings of the Concorso internazionale, of the Concorso Cineasti del presente and of the Piazza Grande are accessible for the press and industry accredited. In case of crowding, priority access is given to the press. All the screenings will take place at the Teatro Kursaal (Largo Zorzi 1, 6600 Locarno).
Please note that film reviews (print, web, radio, TV, social media and any other media) of world and international premieres are subject to an embargo and can only be published 30 minutes after the start of the public screenings at the Locarno Film Festival. There is no embargo for general coverage of the Festival.
Access to the Red Carpet Media Line is granted only to those with Photographer/Cameraman (PHOTO/TV) accreditation.
Journalists wishing to conduct interviews with guests on the Red Carpet should contact the responsible Locarno Film Festival press officer by 14:00 on the same day.
The Digital Library is the online platform where you can watch a portion of titles featured in the official and parallel selections (availability based on permission granted by the rights holders).
Press screenings of the Pardi di domani section – including Corti d'autore films – and Open Doors Screenings are available on the Digital Library as of August 1st at 3:30 pm. Films in the Fuori Concorso section and world and international premieres presented in the Locarno Kids Screenings section are available on the platform starting 24 hours before the first public screening at the Festival.
Films in the Piazza Grande, Concorso internazionale, Concorso cineasti del presente, Panorama Suisse, Semaine de la critique sections are available from the end of their first public screening at the Festival.
All films will be available, unless otherwise indicated, until August 31, 2023.
Access to the Digital Library is restricted to Press and Industry accreditors.

The Press Desk is located at the Festival Center, in Piazza Grande. More precisely at the building of Società Elettrica Sopracenerina SES (Piazza Grande 5, 6600 Locarno). Here you will be able to get your accreditation as well as your welcome bag. The Press Desk provides help with questions, requests for materials, press kits, and will also support you by submitting requests for interviews with Festival guests.
This year, the shuttle service from Milan Malpensa is replaced by a direct rail connection between Milan Malpensa, Milan Centrale and Locarno. Moreover, from this year’s edition, every form of admission to the Festival (single ticket, Day pass, Festival pass, accreditation) will entitle the holder to freely use public transportation in the whole of Canton Ticino for the period of its validity. This initiative has been made possible thanks to our valuable partnership with Swiss train operator FFS, giving a further boost to sustainable mobility alongside the other measures already taken by the Festival to reduce its environmental impact. Information dealing with the train schedule is available here. Further details on the purchase of rail connections for the route outside Ticino or from other airports will follow.
