Biografia

Richard Misek

Richard Misek is an Associate Professor in Screen Media at the University of Bergen in Norway. His films have screened at festivals including Sundance, Hot Docs, and IDFA, and he has led recent grant-funded research projects on digital access to arts and culture and immersive nonfiction.

Radu Jude

Radu Jude is a Romanian director and screenwriter. He studied filmmaking in Bucharest and started his career as an assistant director. In 2006, he made the short film Lampa cu caciula (The Tube with a Hat), winner of more than 50 international awards. Jude's feature debut Cea mai fericita fata din lume (The Happiest Girl in the World, 2009) was selected for more than 50 international film festivals. Titles such as Aferim!, Inimi cicatrizate (Scarred Hearts) and Toata lumea din familia noastra (Everybody in Our Family) followed and won multiple awards: Silver Bear for Best Director in Berlinale 2015, Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival 2016 and an EFA nomination for Best Scriptwriter. The international premiere of The Dead Nation in Locarno in 2017 marked his debut in documentary film. Îmi este indiferent dacă în istorie vom intra ca barbari (I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians, 2018) won the Crystal Globe for Best Film and Label Europa Cinema Prize in Karlovy Vary in 2018. In 2020 his films Uppercase Print and Iesirea trenurilor din gara (The Exit of the Trains), co-directed with Adrian Cioflâncă, premiered in Berlinale Forum. In 2021 Radu Jude won the Golden Bear during the Berlinale with Babardeală cu bucluc sau porno balamuc (Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn). The same year, his short Caricaturana was selected in Locarno in Concorso Corti d’autore. His latest short film Potemkinistii (The Potemkinists) was presented at la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes 2022.

Maryam Tafakory

Maryam Tafakory [b. Iran] works with video. Screening of her work includes; MoMA; ICA; HKW; M HKA; and Anthology Film Archives amongst others. Awards include Tiger Short at 51st IFFR, Gold Hugo Award at 58th Chicago International Festival, Barbara Hammer Feminist Award at 60th AAFF, and Best Experimental Short at 70th MIFF, amongst others.
